Happy Halloween!!!

Andrew was a construction worker...

...and Nolan was Charlie Brown

Andrew tries to figure out what candy Elle just got.

Here he enjoys some of his own candy.

Andrew and Elle discuss whether they want to enter the scary cemetery.

Meet Kirk, the man that we bought our home from six years ago. I don't think the deal would have happened if he looked like this.

How cute is this!?!?

You guessed it, more candy.

He had a great time, but Nolan finally had enough!

How did he get in there?

We're not naming any names, but someone got into Lola's cage to play a little indoor soccer!

Pumpkin Patch- Part Dos

Here are some more from the field trip.

Andrew's Quote of the day- The Evansville bus system is called METS (Metro Evansville Transit System). We were driving to preschool today and Andrew saw the bus so he yelled "There is the METS bus, dad. Where is the Steelers Bus?"

Andrew and Elle hold hands on their way to their first school bus ride!

Nolan got to check out the pumpkins as well.

While the other kids were interested in the maze, Andrew couldn't stop looking at the Grasshopper underneath him.

Checking out the pumpkins during his first ride of the school bus.

Andrew's first field trip- Pumpkin Pickin'

Andrew and his class at Aldersgate Preschool took their first field trip to Mayse Farm to pick pumpkins, go through a corn maze and, of course, there were snacks. Check back tomorrow for more pictures from the day.

Andrew's quote of the day- "I don't feel good. I need something to feel me good."

Leaf me alone - Part Deux

There were a bunch of fun ones from our journey in the leaves in our front yard so here are some more...

...Oh, and the quote of the day. I asked Andrew who is going to win the Steelers-Giants game.
"Giants!" he said emphatically.

Who is going to win the Browns-Jaguars game.
"Jaguars!", again, just as positive.

So, according to Andrew, it is going to be a rough football Sunday at our house.

Leaf me alone!

We have a new category that we are adding to the blog, and it is the quote of the day. It probably won't be everyday, just whenever Andrew (and eventually Nolan) says something that cracks us up.

Today's quote- When Elizabeth asked Andrew if he was done looking at a toy catalog, Andrew replied "No, Mom, I'm just perusing it."

A visit from Hadley and Cameron

Hadley and Cameron Rumbach paid us a visit for a few hours Monday when their mom had to go to work. They played with Andrew's kitchen, trains and had a grand ol' time. Tears were shed as they left the house.

A group photo during snack time.

I think this is the first picture on our blog that doesn't have either Andrew or Nolan in it. But is so stinkin' cute how Hadley and Cameron play school togehter!

Cameron and Andrew cause a log jam as they both try to exit the Thomas tent at the same time.

The Fall Festival

The Westside Nut Club Fall Festival is said to be the nations second largest street festival behind Mardi Gras. Now, Elizabeth and I have had a had a hard time buying that but they say it every year so...
...we took the kids down there Thursday for some rides and very fattening food (The Blackberry Cobbler and Ice Cream is worth the trip alone). That being said, I suggested that they change the name from the Fall Festival to the F-- (rhymes with cat)Festival, but that hasn't happened yet.

Andrew gives mom a thumbs up as he gets ready to ride on the train all by himself.

Dad and Andrew take a flight is a helicopter as Andrew really gets the hang of the thumbs up thing!

Nolan didn't want to be seen at the Festival so he hid himself from the cameras with a balloon.

Andrew had his balloon sail to the sky while eating puppy chow, which explains the tears that washed away the caked on sugar that had gathered on his face.

Shea Goodbye

During our trip to New York in July, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Steve and us made one last trip to Shea Stadium in the final season before the Mets move across the street to Citi Field. We all had a blast, as usual, and Nolan took in his first Mets game in New York.

Uncle Steve keeps Nolan's mind off of thinking about another late season collapse for the Mets.

Ditto for Andrew.

Dad got one last photograph outside of the stadium with his two favorite Mets fans.

Andrew understood the significance of the event, making sure he touched the sign one last time before exiting the stadium which his father worshipped and his mother called "That big, ugly blue building."

Nolan vs. Dr. Marx. Nolan loses.

Everything started out happy at Nolan's 1st year doctor's appointment. He enjoyed playing with the paper on the table. Everything was dandy.

Nolan was very cooperative as Dr. Marx did the check up. No problems here.

Then the needles made an appearance and everything went south. Tears were a flowin'.(Notice the partially eaten Cheerio. It didn't make him happy as we had hoped.)

Mommy to the rescue.

Friday night Downtown Cruise-In

We took the little buggers downtown Friday night for the Cruise -In, where classic car lovers park their rides along Main Street and watch the action. Andrew, of course, is a big fan. Nolan is starting to get the car bug as well.

Mom and Andrew peek into one of the classic cars.

Some of the participants waved to Andrew as they cruised down Main Street.

From the looks of things, Andrew had a good time!
