Nolan's paaahhhaatteee Part 1
Andrew kicked off the party with a truck lap around the yard.
Their friend Eli showing off his dunking skills.
Uncle Steve and John meet up for the first time since a rowdy New Years Eve party many years ago.
There were wagon rides and everything!
Nolan and his fireturck watched the wagon parade.
The kids party young at our gatherings!
Keep on wagoning!
Nolan shut down and got really shy when everyone broke out in singing "Happy Birthday"
Dad and Nolan blow out the candle on his second birthday cake!

Wrigley Field- Mets vs. Cubs
Elizabeth surprised me for Father's Day with tickets to see the Mets take on the Cubs at historic Wrigley Field in Chicago. Needless to say, I was thrilled and excited for all of us to go to a game at one of the best atmospheres in sports.
Right across from the stadium was a restaurant with Andrew's middle name, so we had to stop for a portrait.
Andrew checks out the action in Wrigleyville as we stopped for pizza before the game.
Nolan, Dad and Andrew in front of the famous entrance sign at the nations second oldest stadium. (Fenway Park in Boston is the oldest, if you were wondering)
The kids just happened to be a little restless (I guess that's what a nine days trip will do to you) but gobs of cotton candy and ice cream kept them in their seats for four innings.
When they couldn't sit still much longer, Andrew enjoyed the view around the stadium by watching the buses and cars outside...
...and Nolan couldn't handle it anymore, he knocked out!
This is where he stayed until we exited with the Mets up, 2-1. Unfortunatley, that wasn't the final score but why ruin a good story!
Summing up the Mets season, Andrew couldn't watch anymore either as we pushed them to the limits with the game and the trip. We're headed back home!

Chicago, Chicago
On a windy, chilly August afternoon, we walked from Shedd Aquarium back to our hotel.
The kids really wanted no part of it, but we went through Grant Park to see Buckingham Fountain. We knew they would love it and they did and the fountain was their favorite part.
Andrew "holds up" the Sears, well now, the Willis Tower.
This is what a portrait in front of the fountain is supposed to look like, right?
Andrew practices his somersault technique while walking around the fountain.
Back towards the hotel after an exhausting day!

First Day of School!!!!
Today is the official first day of school! This is the scond year for Andrew but the first for Nolan!! Last Thursday, though, was Parents Day, and the kids got to go to their class and meet their teachers and classmates. Andrew went first with Dad and then Nolan had his class. Here is how it went!
The body language gives away Andrew's exciement.
Elizabeth made these wonderful backpacks with the kids.
I think he's ready.
Andrew and and his new teacher, Mrs. Dana enjoy reading a book together.
A bumblebee was Andrew's first project of the year.
I think it was a pretty successful day!
And heeeeeere comes Nolan!!
He needed to explore the hallways a bit before making it to class.
I think he likes the backpack also.
Nolan entering his class for the first time!! They really are growing up too fast.
With Mom working on his first school project, a pizza with all of his classmates names on it!
