Swimming lessons

Andrew began his second stint at swimming lessons, and it definitely started better than the first time. There was no crying or screaming, just a ton of smiles and a little too much splashing water on his classmates.

Andrew and his instructor practice floating on his back.

This was about as close as he came to listening to the instructors.

Avoiding the long arm of the law!

No, Lola hasn't been replaced...

Happy Birthday Grandma!

It's Grandma's birthday today and Andrew and Nolan wanted to celebrate by making a sign. As expected the whole process was stress free and smooooth! The first picture was our favorite but we added four more that we liked but didn't make the cut.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!

Super Bowl XLIII Steelers vs. Cardinals

As many of you know, I (Vincent) am a HUGE Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I have seen them play in 22 stadiums (23 now) and I am fortunate enough to have such a wonderful wife who gave me her blessing go to Tampa for the Super Bowl.
My seat in the upper level was not like shooting a game from the field, but I am certainly not complaining! Security was very strict about camera equipment, so there are no action shots here. Below is a little picture story about an amazing trip that was sooooooo worth it!

Even our pilot was a Steelers fan, seen here telling a few Cardinal fans that the Steelers would be victorious.

The beautiful West Florida sunset. Huge thanks to my good friends Matt and Christina for their wonderful hospitality all weekend!

Dozens of Steelers fans were getting their faces painted more than six hours before kickoff.

Pittsburgh fans danced and sang together outside of a Steelers camper blasting some of the teams theme songs.

As expected, tickets for the Super Bowl were very scarce and hard to come by.

More partying!

Even the pets were dressed up for the big game.

Even though they took the camper all the way from Pittsburgh, even these die hards were still trying to find some tickets.

I thought this guy was looking for six tickets until we realized he was just doing an early celebration of the Steelers 6th Super Bowl Championship.

Hines!

That's me in my seat hours before kickoff.

Those pesky photographers :) following Big Ben as he comes out for pregame warmups.

Joe Namath was in a good mood!

The Steelers are introduced to a Terrible Towel crazed introduction.

The opening kickoff.

The fans behind me taking photographs of the fireworks during Bruce Springsteen's halftime show.

That's me again celebrating as the Steelers defeated the Cardinals 27-23 after an unbelievable game and ending.

Super Bowl Champions!!!

The guy next to me couldn't believe what he just saw!

Troy Polamalu leaves the field with his family after winning his second Super Bowl championship.

Art Rooney II displays the Vince Lombardi Trophy as he exits Raymond James Stadium.

I got down by the Steelers entrance for the celebration, can you tell I was happy?

Exiting the Tampa airport, we exited to this wonderful sign.

And the best part of it all, coming home to Andrew and Nolan waiting for me!!

Special Delivery

Andrew's Quote of the Day-
We sing with the boys a bunch. It may be The Beatles, Kenny Rogers or Guns N Roses.
Today, Andrew and Dad were playing legos, and I sang to him "All You Need Is Love".
Andrew stopped, looked at me and said "No Dad, all you need is patience."
I guess he likes Guns N Roses!

Nolan got himself into the container, with a balloon, and he looked like a belated Valentine's present.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Quote of the Day- Andrew went into the bathroom , closed the door and got ready to go potty. After a few seconds of silence,
he started singing.
"Five"
"Five Dollar"
Five Dollar Footlong"

------------------------------
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Andrew had a Valentine's party at his preschool, so Elizabeth and Andrew put together some
gifts for his classmates. He and Nolan then got to open up some presents, which is always a happy moment at our house.

Andrew gets a kick out of writing his name on one of the cards for his classmates.

Andrew grabs a box of Sweethearts to put into a goodie bag.

I don't think Nolan realized they were candy, I think he thought it was a noisemaker!

Andrew celebrates his new Cars book from Grandma Tootie.

Gimme that cracker!

Nolan is a little bottomless pit and even when ...well...Andrew just has a cracker, Nolan wants a piece of it. Oh, and Lola too.

Andrew breaks his phone silence

Andrew's quote of the day.
"This eggplant tastes too eggy."

While Dad was in Florida, Andrew broke his rule of not talking on the phone for a few minutes to let me know about all of the fun that he was having with Mom and Nolan.

Friday night basketball

So it is high school basketball playoff time here in Indiana and we thought it would be fun for the kids to go to a game. Buuuuuuut, when we got to North High School, there was barely anyone there. We quickly realized that our information was incorrect. There was a youth game going on, though.
We decided to check it out anyway and Andrew and Nolan didn't seem to mind. Actually, being that we were some of the only spectators, they really enjoyed having the stands all to themselves.

We didn't know it, but Nolan loves watching ANYONE dribbling a basketball!

Andrew grabbed a front row seat for a while...

...but couldn't help testing just about every seat in the gym.

He eventually settled on sitting in the aisle and that too only lasted a few minutes. If you look closely to the right, you can see Elizabeth and Nolan walking around the gym.

Ice Part II

A continuation from Andrew brief stint in the bitter cold and ice, but he enjoyed it more than mom and dad did!

Andrew's quote of the day- As Nolan was babbling at the lunch table, Andrew looked at Elizabeth and said
"Mom, Nolan's speaking Spanish!"

We put the boy to work but it didn't last long.

He was soon off exploring.

He would eventually get wiped out.

See?
