The Final Countdown...

So we pick up at The Space Center...it's late, we're tired, it's really dark (and our pictures are pretty crappy) but we're chugging along...waiting...


Andrew takes a picture of me and Uncle Steve as we wait in line to get in...11 p.m. and everything on schedule.



Dad and Andrew check out the inside of a space shuttle on exhibit....pretty cool...12:30 a.m...still going, four hours to liftoff!



Inside the Rocket Garden, it could have been called the Rocket Gravyard, but either way, it was sweet.


In near darkness, Elizabeth and Andrew walk across the bridge that took Neil Armstrong and his crew to their capsule and eventually to the moon...AWESOME!



Inside the capsule, we had not idea how tight it was in there. It's hard to imagine what those astronauts were going through at liftoff in that position. We're getting close, just a few short hours away...

Just waitin on a shuttle...

So we have left Tennesee headed for Cape Canaveral where we were planning to see the Space Shuttle launch! We drove all day and made it to the Space Coast around 7 p.m. We met up with Uncle Steve, who didn't have a delay on his flight from New York. Everything has gone as planned so far. By 10:30 p.m., we have made it to The Kennedy Space Center, 6 hours to launch. It's going to be a long night but hopefully worth it!

Pizza Car

In one of the trains at the Chattanooga Choo Choo is a Pizza Car, and if you know our children, it was a must. It was rainy night in February so we had the car all to ourselves. We had a great time and I think it shows!

The big surprise!

So now it was time for the big surprise! Andrew, a huge train fan, knew about the Chattanooga Choo Choo but did not know that it is within a hotel, and you can sleep in an actual train car! So this was when we told him that we booked a room and we were all going to sleep on a train!! His face made all of it soooooo worth it!

We'll, we have got some serious blogging to do. We have a backlog that is unreal!. But we are going to start with the trip that we just finished. It will be broken up into many segments over amany days, because there is a ton. After that, I'll catch up on older stuff that has not been seen!

Hello from Chattanooga!

Nolan vs. the Dog Food Container. Nolan won.

This is what happens when a two-year-old gets into a battle with the dog food container when Mom and Dad both think the other was watching him for those TWO minutes.

I hope I get a harmonica...

When Animals Attack

Two wild dogs got into Nolan's bed while he was sleeping, but he didn't even seem to notice. Luckily, they found it as cozy as he did so they all just napped together!
